Jardin Botanique de Launay – Université Paris-Saclay
Orsay
Description
The University of Paris-Saclay has its own botanical garden, featuring a rich variety of plant species, managed by the Environment and Landscapes Department.
In 2001, the university garden was awarded the “Jardin botanique de France et des pays francophones” (Botanical garden of France and Francophone countries) label. The garden has adopted two complementary approaches: thanks to its vast plant collections, that comprise roughly 3,000 taxa, as well as its natural and semi-natural spaces, it seeks to both educate and preserve the environment.
